My process

As a product designer, I touch every aspect of development. This is a general overview of the process I follow. I like to work agile and to produce clear, precise and well documented deliverables.

This diagram exhibits how the process grows and narrows before delivering and iterating before growing again.

A project starting from scratch will require a product discovery phase in which we explore our potential users, what we want to become and how we plan to grow. On the contrary, when a product comes from a former iteration, sometimes furthering research is necessary in order to validate the knowledge upon which the product was built. In any case, I use something called Directed Discovery to better narrow all possible paths and to explore them within a reasonable time. I work in sprints and I like delivering fast. Projects that are not terrible large usually take from 6 to 8 weeks.

A more solid definition of my sprints.

I've worked as the UX Team of One and I've also led groups of people. Documenting everything and being as transparent as possible when restricting or producing feature sets allows me to better manage teams and resources. Yet, the most powerful tool I've ever come across is empathy.  Being empathetic empowers a designer and allows us to place ourselves in the shoes of others. Sometimes our users are not only the end users, but also our team mates. Understanding this has allowed me to better enjoy teamwork and to lead large efforts.
