Arena is a novel gamers' service owned by renowned mexican mogul Germán Larrea. Through its many locations Arena provides immersive experiences to gamers looking for something beyond the classic home console or PC.

The core problem

Arena was a simple idea at first, but it showed to be promising withing a few days of concept bouncing. I was part of the team behind the ideation of the Arena experience, the services it would provide, the way it would look and they way its business rules would be have, which pretty much means Arena had to be designed from scratch.

The solution

Product Discovery sessions were required to discover the requirements behind the MVP (which would then become an MLP). Afterwards, user and market research sessions along with design sprints were carried out to produce the core documentation and user journeys of the whole digital and physical Arena experience.

Arena became a tier-based service, with VR and ultra high-speed internet for premium (or VIP) users. The service also focused on promoting eSports, something in which Arena currently holds a powerful position.

Numbers and references

Arena currently operates over 13 locations distributed across Mexico. Alongside Coca-Cola, Arena created the Arena Open League. The service's success has led Arena to design and build their own stadium for future, high-end eSports events.

You can take a look at Arena's current landing page, which will be revamped in the near future in order to fit their new, demanding users:
