Year 8 Geography Examination

(updated April 25)

• Your Geography exam will be 45 minutes long.

• You will have to answer all the questions on the paper.

• There will be a mixture of questions which will test your ability to draw and interpret graphs and diagrams as well as your knowledge and understanding of the material we have covered this year.

• You will need a pen, pencil, ruler and eraser.

• Differential heating of the Earth.

• Causes of climate change.

• The greenhouse effect.

• Evidence for climate change.

• Impacts of climate change.

• How we can mitigate climate change.

How are populations changing?

• Changing world populations

• Demographic transition model

• Population pyramids

Factfulness - Global Development

• Development indicators

• Drawing and interpreting scatter graphs

Tips for revision:

Make your revision as active as possible, don't just read through your books! Instead, try the following: 

• Use the knowledge organisers you have created as part of your revision for Common Assessments. Blank copies of these will be posted on your individual Google Classrooms. 

• Use flashcards to learn key terminology and ask someone at home to test you.
