Y7 French Summer Exam Revision List

How will I be assessed?

Speaking (3 minutes max)

You will have a 1:1 speaking assessment with your teacher. This will be in class before your end of year exam. Your teacher will give you more details about this.

Listening (30 minutes)

A range of questions with either multiple choice or written responses (all in English) and a dictation section (written in French).

Reading & Writing (1 hour 15 minutes)

Reading: a range of questions with either multiple choice or written responses (all in English) and a translation into English.

Writing: Sentences to complete (grammar based), translation inot French and a 90 word task with 3 bullet points to cover.

How do I prepare for this exam?

Revise vocabulary for the topics we have covered so far this year. This vocabulary will be used for all the assessments. Use your exercise books, Slides on Google Classroom and Languagenut.

Whilst these are usually not aligned to our course, they can be excellent tools for building vocabulary and confidence!

How should I revise?

Your books are your starting point. Your teachers work extremely hard to make sure you have everything you need at your fingertips.

Go through all your exercise books - read feedback and look at self-reflection. Look at previous exams, assessments & prior preparation too - where could you improve next time?

• TEST YOURSELF - do NOT use passive revision techniques such as reading notes or highlighting random pieces of information. You MUST employ active recall techniques.
