My journey in education spans over 10 years, with a particular focus on Special Educational Needs. For the past 3 years i have worked a duel role splitting my time between direct classroom teaching and training teachers in the effective use of educational technology.
As a fully qualified primary teacher, my path has evolved to teaching Level 2 IT and Key Stage 3 maths. This unique blend of roles has afforded me a comprehensive view of both the challenges and immense potentials in harnessing technology to enhance learning.
My driving passion is to remove barriers to learning for students with unique learning profiles. I strongly believe that the key to achieving this, without increasing the workload for teachers, lies in the smart integration of technology into our teaching practices. In a world where technology is omnipresent, it's crucial that we leverage it not just as a tool, but as a bridge to learning opportunities that are otherwise out of reach for some students.
Abingdon House School is an independent day school for pupils aged from 5 to 19 with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADD/ADHD, autistic spectrum condition, social communication difficulties and other associated needs.
The teaching and integrated therapy at Abingdon House School focuses on supporting the challenges faced by students with Special Educational Needs, such as working memory, processing speed, executive functioning, sensory processing, social communication needs, as well as the impact these may have on a student’s confidence and self esteem.
The school provides a warm, nurturing and aspirational learning environment where the specific individual learning needs of our students are fully supported in a mainstream styled environment. At Abingdon House School we provide an integrated, whole-school multidisciplinary approach to meeting the needs of students with unique learning profiles based on understanding your child’s individual needs, nurturing their academic and social development and caring for their well being.
