If you are in good mental health it is relatively easy for you to cope with life and live up to your potential. You are able to fulfill your role in your family, your workplace, your community, and among friends.
We all have times that we feel down or stressed but most of the time those feelings pass fairly quickly. If you are feeling overwhelmed by the challenges of life and wonder how you will keep going you may be suffering from a mental health problem such as depression - and that’s okay.
The ultimate friend we find in our pain is Jesus Himself. He wept for us. And on the cross, He experienced separation from God in its fullness. Our Savior knows what it means to suffer darkness. But, when you are experiencing a mental health crisis and feeling isolated, it’s very easy to forget that God is within you. The Holy Spirit is the presence of God Himself, living and active in the life of everyone who trusts in Jesus. Most people who experience mental health issues of this sort can overcome them if they seek help and obtain the appropriate care soon enough. We want to help you work through these difficult times and we encourage you to ask for help. We have multiple therapists that we refer people to and that we fully trust. Also know that seeking help doesn’t make you a bad Christian and it doesn’t mean you don’t have enough faith or trust in God. Sometimes it is necessary to have someone outside of a situation to help you process and heal. Know that you are not alone in this time.
