For this project we were asked to create a vector self-portrait, building up layers in Adobe Illustrator from reference photos. After the final illustration was created, I simplified my design by focusing on the geometric shapes. Then I used Illustrator's recolor artwork tool to create a harmonious color scheme. While working on this project I found it difficult to decide which elements of the background to accentuate or ignore. Eventually I decided to create radiating rings of primary colors. I decided on this green color scheme, after trying several more conventional designs, because of my deep love of nature.

While working on this project I found it difficult to decide which elements of the background to accentuate or ignore. Eventually I decided to just create an abstract leaf cluster and copy that element multiple times to create the feeling of foliage. I finally decided on this blue color scheme, after trying several more conventional designs, because of it's surreal feeling.
