Pastoral Care. Richard & George will not be visiting in the usual way, but we are very happy to provide support over the phone. Christ Church Updates 22 November 2020

Prayer Service – Wednesday 25 November at 7:45pm
This Wednesday evening we will meet for a short prayer/healing service in the church. There will praise, bible reflection, prayer for others and time for quiet prayer. Everyone is very welcome to attend. If you would like to request prayer for yourself or someone else, please give details to Richard, George, Cilla Cummings or Heather Coard. Prayer can be requested for any issue and you can give as much or as little details as you would like.

Arrangements for Sunday 29 November & 6 December
Following the latest decisions from the NI Executive, we are not able to meet together in church for worship or Sunday School on the next two Sundays. A service will be available on our YouTube channel each week and DVDs will be provided to those who previously received them. If you no longer require a DVD, please let us know. Or if you know of anyone who hasn’t received DVDs in the past but would like to, please get in touch.

Small Groups
Meetings for prayer and bible study are not able to take place from 27 November – 11 December. Details of any meetings after this date will be provided in a few weeks’ time.

Toys for Women’s Aid
We had planned to hold our toy service on Sunday 6th December. Instead, you can drop off donations on Saturday 5th December between 10 and 11am. If you wish to give, you can either bring toys or cash donations. Women’s Aid will be very grateful for all that is given. It will make a real difference in the lives of many families this Christmas.

Planned Christmas Services (subject to any further decisions by the Executive)

Sunday 13 December at 10 & 11:15am – including our Virtual Nativity

Sunday 20 December at 11:15 & 6pm – Carol Service
(the same service will run at both times)

Christmas Day Service at 10:30am

Services will continue to be available each week online and on DVD as well.

Messy Church Online – Sunday 6 December at 4pm using zoom
Please let us know if you are planning to join in and we will drop a goody bag round to you.

BB Christmas cards
Due to the issues involved in collecting, sorting and delivering cards, our BB Company will not be delivering Christmas cards this year

Please pass used stamps to Derick Hunter for Guide Dogs for the blind. A margin of ½” should be left around the stamp.

‘Christmas Hope in a covid world’
We have got a number of leaflets to deliver through the letterboxes of local homes. If you would like to be involved in delivering some, please speak to Richard.

Giving / Envelopes
All donations for 2020 should be submitted by Sunday 27 December at the latest. Church envelopes for 2021 will be distributed during December. If your envelope number is currently between 161 and 200, you will receive a new number next year. If you have any queries about envelopes, standing orders or gift aid, please contact Ken Allen.

Audio Visual equipment
With two services each Sunday and additional work with recording and live streaming, more help is needed. Our new equipment is very easy to use and training/assistance will be provided. If you would like to be involved, please let us know.

Final note
1 Timothy 2:1-2 urges us to pray for all those in authority. Please continue to do this and pray of everyone who is impacted by their decisions in a variety of ways. These are difficult times. I am happy to chat about anything, at any time, just let me know. If you, or someone you know, is in need financially, you can speak to me about that as well, in complete confidence.

We will continue to monitor restrictions and provide update via facebook and our website. If you are unsure about what is happening, feel free to phone.
