Chris O. Brooks

Strategy • Growth • Early Stage

Experienced in disruptive product development within complex industries at high-growth commercial companies. Chris is a trusted advisor for medical device companies at various stages from concept to clinical trials, providing counsel and direction on critical business activities such as product development, fundraising, market research, go-to-market planning, commercialization, regulatory strategy, reimbursement strategy, industry affairs, and patient outreach. Chris thrives at the intersection of cutting edge and complex and is not afraid to roll up his sleeves to work across the organization (or serve as interim ground floor for multiple departments) to accelerate growth and mitigate risk across the healthcare spectrum.

Chris was previously the Chief Strategy Officer at Ventec Life Systems where he was responsible for product development, external affairs, market access, clinical outreach and research, and commercial operations for integrated respiratory care where the team developed and commercialized the first and only integrated medical device – VOCSN – which combines a ventilator, oxygen concentrator, cough assist, suction pump, nebulizer, and high flow oxygen device into a single, portable device for pediatric and adult patients from hospital to home.

Before healthcare, Chris served as the Director of Global Corporate Affairs for Hilton where he was responsible for rebuilding, rebranding, and repositioning the private company following Blackstone Group’s $26B leveraged buyout. Across multiple, broad roles including corporate responsibility, financial communications, strategic partnerships, content development, and online engagement, Chris was part of the core team that prepared Hilton for a return to the public markets in the largest ever hospitality IPO. Early in his career, Chris consulted high-profile individuals and multi-national corporations across a variety of sectors on a range of complex issues from hostile company takeovers to international crises.
