Bio
Originally from Nebraska, I studied at Nebraska Wesleyan University and abroad in Queretero, Mexico. I love languages and the performing arts. I have a B.A. in Spanish, Theatre Arts, and English. Before moving to Texas, I taught for two years in upstate New York while my husband attended Cornell University. Next, I taught for seven years at LaVega High School. This is my sixteenth year at China Spring High School, and I love being a Cougar!
I love languages and the performing arts! Helping students understand and communicate is my jam! In my Spanish classes, I try to use Comprehensible Input to help students acquire Spanish. I love using music and film to help students connect with the culture and language. When not teaching Spanish, I can also be found at the China Spring PAC helping with the Theatre Productions. Later in the year I will be directing the Middle School One Act Play for the year. I also sponsor the MS Drama Club.
I enjoy spending time with my husband and son. My husband is an attorney in Waco, and my son will be in the seventh grade this year. I like reading, music, theatre, doing puzzles, sewing, and hanging out with my cats.
