A Peek at Our Week

10-4-26 Our 2nd graders had so much fun putting their science skills to work during Apple Science Day! After learning about and writing about the life cycle of an apple, we spent the day exploring three different types of apples through hands-on science activities.

Students weighed, measured, and tested whether each apple would float or sink. Of course, we also had to finish our investigation with a taste test to see which variety was our favorite! 🍏🍎

The students loved being scientists for the day and learning through hands-on exploration, observation, and lots of curiosity. It was a fun way to bring our apple learning to life!

9-20-26 We have had so much fun exploring our classroom over the past couple of weeks! One of our favorite centers has been our STREAM Bins. These bins are filled with a variety of manipulatives and challenge cards that encourage students to plan, create, problem-solve, and work together while using their imaginations. The students pictured below have been busy building bridges, churches, cars, flowers, and so much more! We have also been exploring the different flexible seating options in our classroom, including our surf desks while working at the carpet. There are so many exciting and creative ways to learn, collaborate, and grow our brains in second grade! I can’t wait to see what our students create next!

It's the first week of school! This week we focused on building classroom relationships, setting expectations for the year, and remembering what it is like to be in the classroom. We had a lot of fun exploring our flexible seating options, checking out Splashlearn with our chromebooks, working together "Saving  Fred," and sharing facts abut ourselves. It was a great first week in 2nd grade!
