URGENT & IMPORTANT INFORMATION FROM CHILTERN COUNTRYSIDE GROUP ON KEY DfT AIRSPACE CHANGE CONSULTATION CLOSES 25 MAY 2017
We have just learnt that the DfT are running a key Consultation on policy for design & use of UK airspace, which could have important, and perhaps unwelcome, impacts on airspace above the Chilterns and the AONB.
IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT AS MANY MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC AND LOCAL ELECTED BODIES, SUCH AS COUNCILS, RESPOND. CLOSING DATE IS 11.45PM ON WEDS 25 MAY SO ONLY A FEW DAYS REMAIN.
PLEASE DO YOUR UTMOST TO REPLY EVEN IF YOU ONLY HAVE TIME TO READ THE 9 PAGE EXECUTIVE SUMMARY. EVERY VOICE COUNTS.
The CCG Steering Group will endeavour to make a response and we apologise for the short notice given to you, but news of this Consultation slipped through our normal filtering and alerting mechanism.
London Luton Airport are very eager for local communities to participate in this Consultation for as you will be aware, much of their operations are artificially held down at lower altitudes than their aircraft need be, due to stacking for Heathrow and other overflights. Local communities in the Chilterns and the AONB are adversely impacted by this and the Consultation is a vital opportunity to highlight these effects which the right changes could minimise. It's also a key chance to comment on how noise is measured.
All CCG earlier submissions on aviation, apart from two, are now archived from the website: http://www.chilterncountrysidegroup.org Should you wish to have further sight of any of these, do please let us know urgently & we'll send them directly to you. Please feel free to use any information currently on the CCG website to support your case, although we would appreciate the convention of acknowledging source.
Details of the consultation and how to respond can be found on the DfT’s website: https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/reforming-policy-on-the-design-and-use-of-uk-airspace
With best wishes to you all.
