HIGH SPEED 2
DfT HS2 PROPERTY COMPENSATION CONSULTATION CLOSES 23.45 hours on TUES 30th SEPTEMBER 2014 - THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO HAVE A SAY ON COMPENSATION FOR HS2
Full details of the proposals under consultation and details of how to respond can be found on the DfT website: https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/hs2-property-consultation-2014
There are 2 new schemes: 'The Alternative Cash Payment' and 'The Home Owner Payment'. Both carry restrictions and it would seem will then apply to only a few households and only in rural areas. We believe these do not offer the rightful compensation deserved by the many people who will be blighted by HS2 in both urban and rural areas.
NEED HELP WITH RESPONDING?
Some excellent advice on how to respond and links to help you do this quickly are available from the HS2 Action Alliance website: http://www.hs2actionalliance.org/compensation-consultation-2014/
and from the STOPHS2 website: http://stophs2.org/news/12187-compensation-petitioning-additional-hs2-provisions-responses-in
SO DO PLEASE RESPOND AS WHETHER OR NOT YOU ARE AFFECTED, YOU CAN SUPPORT THOSE WHO THROUGH NO CHOICE OF THEIR OWN, ARE.
LONDON LUTON AIRPORT
CCG will be meeting shortly with the Chilterns Conservation Board to examine the implications for the Chilterns of the recently approved Planning Application by Luton Borough Council for the expansion and development of LLA. We are especially concerned about increases in night flights including those in the 'shoulder' periods. If there are particular issues which you would like us to consider do let us know soonest.
When you are disturbed by any aircraft, but especially at night, do support our efforts by making this known to the relevant airport. All complaints have to be logged and investigated and form part of quarterly and annual monitoring reports, so yours does make a difference.
