Dear CACPCS Families,

As always, we hope you and your families are doing well. We appreciate your consistent efforts and partnership as we continue to work through these unprecedented times.

We are looking forward to connecting with your children next week as we launch the final phase of our remote learning plan, live instruction. As a reminder, live instruction will begin on Tuesday, May 26. Your child’s teacher will be sending his/her individual schedule with Zoom login information for all classes before the end of this week. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you don’t receive this information.

This week, I’m writing to share some updates to year-end assessments scheduled for the month of June. While we acknowledge how challenging these current circumstances are for our scholars and their families, we are also committed to ensuring that our scholars continue to learn and grow during this time and that we have ample information on their performance so we can use it to plan for a strong, supportive and strategic 20-21 school year, particularly as we consider unfinished learning that we will need to address, given these challenges. With this in mind, we need your support in ensuring your child is present for testing sessions so that we can use this information to inform our planning.

Kindergarten and first grade scholars will be assessed individually via one-on-one Zoom sessions so that teachers can determine their independent and instructional reading levels. These assessments will take place over the course of the month of June. Your child’s teachers will be in touch with a day and time for this in the coming weeks.

Scholars in grades 2-5 will be assessed in English Language Arts (ELA) and mathematics over Zoom testing sessions. ELA assessments will take place the week of June 8 and math assessments the week of 6/15. Exact schedules with days and times are attached to this email. Please review for further information. As I’ve shared in the past, we’ve partnered with the Achievement Network (ANet) this year and your children have taken interim assessments to measure their ELA and math progress. This assessment will be the fourth and final assessment from ANet.

If your child receives IEP or 504 accommodations (test read, extended time, etc.) these will be provided as well.

We will be in touch with more information, including Zoom login information for the testing sessions, in the coming weeks. In the meantime, we want to ensure you stay updated on our year-end planning.

Estamos ansiosos de conectarnos con sus hijos la semana entrante durante nuestra última faceta de aprendizaje remoto, clases en vivo. Como un recordatorio, las clases en vivo comenzarán el Martes, 26 de Mayo. El maestro de su estudiante le estará enviando el horario individual de el/ella con la información de la reunión por Zoom para todas sus clases antes del final de esta semana. Por favor contactar al maestro de su estudiante si no recibe esta información.

Está semana, les escribo para compartir algunas actualizaciones a los exámenes de fin de año programadas para el mes de Junio. Aunque reconocemos que tan difíciles la circunstancias actuales son para nuestros estudiantes y sus familias, también estamos comprometidos en asegurar que nuestros estudiantes continúen con su aprendizaje y crecimiento durante estos tiempos y que tengamos información amplia de sus habilidades las cuales podamos usar para planear un año escolar fuerte, con apoyos y estratégicos para el 20-21, particularmente mientras consideramos aprendizaje inacabado el cual necesitaremos que abordar dado estos desafíos. Con esto en mente, necesitamos de su apoyo para asegurar que su hijo/a esté presente durante estas sesiones de exámenes para que nosotros podamos usar está información para informarnos durante nuestra planificación.

Los estudiantes del Kindergarten y el primer grado serán evaluados individualmente por conferencias de uno-a-uno por Zoom para que los maestros puedan determinar sus niveles de instrucción y de lectura independiente. Estos exámenes tomarán lugar durante el mes de Junio. Los maestros de su estudiante estarán en comunicación con ustedes con un día y una hora para los exámenes durantes las próximas semanas.

Los estudiantes en los grados de 2-5 serán evaluados en clases de Arte del Lenguaje de Inglés (ELA) y en matemáticas por medio de examinación en Zoom. Las evaluaciones de ELA tomarán lugar durante la semana del 8 de Junio y las evaluaciones de matemáticas tomarán lugar durante la semana del 15 de Junio. Los horarios exactos están adjunto a este correo electrónico. Por favor revise para más información. Como les compartí anteriormente, nos hemos asociados con Achievement Network (ANet) esté año y sus hijos han tomado examinaciones en ELA y matemáticas para medir su progreso. Este será el cuarto y último examen de ANet.

Si su estudiante tiene un IEP o una acomodación de 504 (en lectura, tiempo extendido, etc.) estas serán proveídas también.

Estaremos en comunicación con más información, incluyendo información de Zoom para las sesiones de exámenes, en las próximas semanas. Mientras tanto, queremos asegurarnos que están informados con la planificación de fin de año.
