About this Course
ParentSquare Admins keep the entire district/ school community informed and manage ParentSquare access and view progress. This 101 course describes the 3 main ways in which you, as the ParentSquareAdmin, can use ParentSquare to communicate:

Direct messages
Alerts (robocall)

Smart Alert vs. Urgent Alert
What is the difference between a Smart Alert and an Urgent Alert?
Smart Alert
Examples: school closures, delayed opening, early dismissal, after-school and weekend activities cancellation
Detailed message options for composing
Flexible recipient list
Send instantly, save draft, or schedule for a later time/date
Option to choose any or all send methods: text, voice, and/or email
Flexible communication modes use text and/or voice and/or email
Urgent Alert
Examples: natural disasters, critical threats, etc.
Limited options for composing, optimized for quick action
Can only send to entire school/district
Can only send instantly to all recipients
Defaults to all send methods: text, voice and email
Can select prerecorded message from Message Library or write a short message that gets sent out through all communication modes: email, text and voice call (as text-to-speech)
