Mrs. Karen Zetoff, Teacher/Library Media Specialist

I am thrilled to be one of the Library Media Specialists at Highland Elementary School. I consider this to be my dream job, as I am honored to inspire so many of the students who enter the library each week. My professional background consists of 20+ years of elementary classroom teaching and reading intervention, both in NYC and CT. I earned a B.S. in Marketing from The University of Rhode Island and an M.A. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from New York University. In 2016/2017, I fulfilled a career goal by earning K-12 certification in Library Science through the ARC/LMS program at ACES, which ultimately led me to Highland. When I’m away from school, I like to spend time with my family, including my husband David, daughter Carly, and son Jeremy. I enjoy reading, hiking and traveling, and choose to do something active each day.

I look forward to another adventurous year in the library!

Mrs. Jessica Nowicki, Library Media Technician

I joined the Highland team last year after five years in the library at Darcey School. Both my daughters attended Highland, and I was an avid volunteer in the Library!! (We’re always looking for great volunteers!) I love assisting the students in finding the perfect book, and getting them to talk about how they liked it afterward. Highland Library is a wonderful, inclusive space that provides the best in fiction and nonfiction to inspire our students’ imaginations and aspirations!

Fun fact about me: I’m originally from Western Montana, have lived in eight different states and 2 countries.
