If you do not have enough leave time to cover your approved leave of absence, you may be eligible for Sick Leave Bank pay. The Sick Leave Bank may only be used for an approved medical leave of absence for the employee's health condition. Check with a Benefits Generalist to see if you are a member of the Sick Leave Bank.
All licensed staff are automatically enrolled in the Sick Leave Bank upon hire. Administrator, Pro Tech, and Classified groups are automatically enrolled after one year of employment. Employees are charged eight hours of leave time to enroll. Employee groups may be reassessed for more hours at any time and will be notified as such per corresponding policy. You may waive your Sick Leave Bank enrollment at any time by completing the opt-out waiver form below and submitting it to benefits@cherrycreekschools.org. An employee will only be eligible for Sick Leave Bank pay during the first 60 calendar days from the initial date of disability. Calendar days include weekends, holidays, snow days and breaks. The employee first uses up all of their eligible leave time for pay and then they receive two days without pay (these are known as dock days). Any remaining work days within the 60 day waiting period may be paid utilizing the Sick Leave Bank, if approved.
Employee health and maternity leaves may qualify for Sick Leave Bank. Family care, adoption, paternity, parenting and military leaves do not qualify for Sick Leave Bank.
To apply to receive Sick Leave Bank pay, please complete the appropriate Sick Leave Bank request forms below and submit to benefits@cherrycreekschools.org along with your leave of absence paperwork.
