Cherry Creek School District is a PERA employer.  Both you and the District contribute to the PERA accounts every time you get paid.  Your contributions are always your money and you contribute to PERA instead of contributing to social security.  The District's contributions also go to PERA and when you retire, you may draw from this general fund based on the retirement table you are linked with, your age and years of service at retirement.  Depending on these factors and your highest average salary (HAS), when you retire you will receive a monthly paycheck for the rest of your life.
