Health First Colorado (Colorado’s Medicaid program) is free or low-cost health coverage for Colorado children and adults who qualify. The Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF) oversees Health First Colorado and Child Health Plan Plus.
Check to see if you qualify through the PEAK application. Most people find out right away if they qualify.
Apply by phone: Call 1-800-221-3943 / State Relay: 711. Phone applications are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) is public low-cost health insurance for certain children and pregnant women. It is for people who earn too much to qualify for Health First Colorado (Colorado's Medicaid program), but not enough to pay for private health insurance.
