Luxembourg also known as Luxembourg City. Luxembourg City is one of the capitals of the European Union (EU).It is located in the center of Western Europe.Luxembourg City is one of the richest cities in the world,seriously established as a financial and administrative center. Here are the headquarters of some of the most important institutions of the European Union. The capital is Located on several hills, it intertwines the Old and the New, abounds in various bridges, cathedrals, public and residential buildings, parks and palaces. In Upper Luxembourg are located the most important government buildings - the Palace of the Grand Duke, Parliament and City Hall.Against the backdrop of modern shopping malls, office buildings and huge banks rise the ancient ruins of the Old Town. The first fortress walls were built in the early tenth century around the historic Luxembourg Castle, built by the country's first ruler, King Siegfried I, on the Bock Rock. One of the main tourist attractions is the Adolf Bridge.The city of Luxembourg is also proud of its museums.
National Food
Luxembourg combines the finesse of French cooking with the German food. More recently, it has been inspired by the cuisine of Italian and Portuguese immigrants. Traditional Luxembourgers consume a small French-style breakfast and large meals at midday and in the evening. The Traditional food include Judd matt Gaardebou`nen , thuringer (small sausages), Luxembourg ham , friture de la Moselle (small river fish), pike in Riesling sauce, gromper keeschelche (potato pancakes), kach keis (soft melted cheese), paté, and quetsche tort . Special dishes are consumed on national and religious holidays, as well as on Sunday afternoons. After consuming these large meals, Luxembourgers taking walks in the country. Luxembourg also produces plum brandies made from mirabelle (yellow plums) and ketsch (purple plums).
Customs and traditions
Greetings are reserved and formal. The most common greeting is a brief handshake.Very close friends greet each other by kissing on the cheeks three times, starting with the left cheek and alternating.This can be between women or a man and a woman.Men never kiss other men, they always shake hands.If you are invited to someone's home, bring a box of chocolates or flowers. Invitations to tea are formal and require the same gift as would a dinner party.Flowers should be given in odd numbers, but not 13, which is an unlucky number.Do not give chrysanthemums as they are used at funerals.A small gift for the children is always appreciated.Gifts are not usually opened when received.

Luxembourg has a rich music scene with a variety of musical genres having a lot of popularity in the country. Jazz, pop, and rock are favorite of many Luxembourgers.

Whether you are in the Luxembourg center, North, South, East or West of the Grand Duchy, there is always a park or a garden to escape reality and forget the stress of everyday life. Over one quarter of the capital is made up of green areas. Just like Central Park in New York, the Petrusse Valley is the green lung or breather of Luxembourg: featuring green parks, it offers beautiful walks and peace and quiet in the heart of the city center! André Municipal Park is perfect to relax and taking a walk with green areas. Merl-Belair Park, is without any doubt a favourite meeting place for families. Children can expend their energy at a wonderful playground while parents recharge their batteries in the meadows on the edges of the small lake.All the parks of the capital can be accessed on foot or by bicycle, and invite you to slow down and enjoy a quiet moment in our world.
Cultural sights
Luxembourg is full of interesting attractions, museums . Grand Ducal Palace is one of major tourist sites of the city. This is a beautiful architectural structure. Travellers, who visit the city during July and August, will have a unique opportunity to walk through the corridors of the palace and visit halls. The reason for this is that at this time of a year the Grand Duke and his family make a vacation, so the palace becomes fully available to travellers. Among other attractive architectural places of interest are distinguished an old Jesuit college, church of Saint-Michel, which was built in the 10th century, and the town hall. The fans of unusual excursions should not forget to visit Bock Casemates. There are several charming monuments in Luxembourg, such as the Maquette de la Fortresse sculpture, which is a miniature city, as well as monuments to great people such as the Grand Duchess Charlotte, Wilhelm II and the National Unity Monument.
