Propose a Workshop

The Cultural Competence Certificate is about promoting awareness of self and others, while building skills to respond effectively to people from all cultures, economic statuses, language backgrounds, races, ethnic backgrounds, disabilities, religions, genders, gender identifications, sexual orientations, veteran statuses and other characteristics in a manner that recognizes, affirms and values their worth, and preserves the dignity of individuals, families and communities.

Chemeketa is rich in the knowledge and experiences of its staff and faculty. The Cultural Competence Certificate is about honoring the contributions that everyone can make. Please consider contributing to the program by sharing best practices, knowledge, and expertise.

Do you:

  • make a special effort to be inclusive and/or promote equitable outcomes in your work at Chemeketa? or
  • have expertise on topics of diversity, equity and inclusion? or
  • think that by partnering with someone you could share your experience or expertise? or
  • feel like the college and our students would benefit from specific knowledge that you can share with a larger audience?

Consider proposing a workshop, presentation, training, field trip, book club, activity, brown bag or something different. Even if your idea is not yet complete, pitch it to us and we can help you develop it.

Do you:

  • know of a colleague who is doing an exceptional job in being inclusive and/or promoting equitable outcomes in their work at Chemeketa? or
  • consider a speaker on diversity, equity and inclusion to be inspirational or a "game-changer"?
  • have ideas about how to engage our employees, students and community on the topics of diversity, equity and inclusion?

Consider proposing a speaker and/or activity for a diversity, equity and/or inclusion event.
