Teenagers everywhere should learn to cook for themselves. It's a wonderful skill to have.
For this piece, I interviewed Mabari Byrd, a fitness trainer who works with people of all ages. He believes, "Teens should learn how to cook for themselves because it will benefit them in the future."
I understand that independence is important as a teen, and learning to cook is one means of achieving that.
“If you have a younger sibling(s) and your guardian(s) work late, rather than ordering takeout, you can cook a meal for yourself and your sibling(s),” said Byrd.
This will save your parents money and time, which I'm certain they'll appreciate. You could teach this skill to your younger sibling(s) or other family members who don't know how to cook, if you learn it.
According to Souther Home Express, some great meals to cook at home for teens are things like: tacos, ramen noodles, grilled cheese sandwiches, etc.
These meals are very easy to make! Not to mention all of these meals have a great amount of protein and nutrients, which are beneficial to the body.
Tacos: They are a great meal to make at home because they are simple to make. Besides protein, tacos also have a low amount of calories. However, your calorie intake may increase depending on what you put in it. However, this is a fantastic meal to prepare!
Ramen Noodles: Ramen Noodles may not be good for you but there really easy to make. You can make them from scratch but if you're a beginner your better off boiling them in a pot or putting them in the microwave.
Grilled cheese sandwiches: They provide a decent amount of nutrients, which assist in the development of stronger teeth, bones, and muscle mass. It also contains vitamins and minerals that your body craves.
