Charmo University wins two grants from IREX small grants projects- 2019

Charmo Univeristy has won two grants from the American organization IREX; the organization that is supported by American embassy for the Iraqi projects.

A competition for the (Higher Education Small Grant Program) was announced in 2019 to all universities in Iraq to submit their project proposals. The aim of this program is to support and help the academic projects of various Iraqi universities and institutions to contribute to the development of higher education in the country through collaborative project with the university and .

Among 10 accepted projects in different universities of Iraq, Charmo won two projects. The projects were entitled of “Counselling and Psychological Support Services on Campuses for Victims of Violence and Other Psychological Trauma” and “Introducing Transformative Learning Methods and Strategies to Faculty”. The first project is run by Dr. Dana Khdr Sabir and Ms Parzheen Jabar Mohammad with partnership with Al-Muthanna University in Iraq and Teachers College, Columbia University in the United State.

Second project run by Mr. Hawar Fadhil at Charmo University with partnership of Soran and Mosul Universities in Iraq and Teachers College, Columbia university in The Unites States.

These projects will create collaboration between Iraqi and American universities and strengthens the research area and support for students
