My name is griffin Orsinger, and I am currently a 10th grad student in my first year at Charlotte Latin. I have a younger sister who is also at Charlotte Latin, and an older brother at Myers Park. I learn best when I am able to listen and see what is happening with a teacher who keeps class engaging and interesting. I am motivated by the chance of success and of a higher goal, to always achieve something greater than I have now. I signed up for engineering design methods in order to learn engineering skills and how to create my own projects. In this class I am most excited for creating various projects that I have not done before, and the methods used to make those projects. In my free time, I like to listen to and play music, and one day I hope to make my own music.
Something I built that I am proud of was a stellated dodecahedron. I built this as a project for my eight grade math class. To build this I had to cut out over seventy pieces that had to be relatively precise in both shape and size. I had to restart this project once due to imprecisely cutting of the pieces. This could've been easily prevented by measuring the pieces more precisely. I fixed this issue by cutting all the pieces again, which solved the issue.
