Tdap Requirements for student entry into 7th Grade
Attention, parents!
SC Law requires all 7th through 12th-grade students to have a dose of Tdap vaccine. The Tdap vaccine protects students from tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (also known as whooping cough). This vaccine has been required for school attendance since 2013.
7th graders will not be able to receive a class schedule during registration without proof of Tdap vaccination. Non-compliant students will not be able to begin 7th grade in August until proof of a Tdap vaccination is provided. This is State Law! If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child's school or school nurse or Nursing Services at 843-745-2184. For more information about immunization requirements, visit SC's DHEC Vaccinations page or call your child’s medical provider.
