Please review the SCReady Testing Dates. On these days, we will be testing in a staggered start, with all students beginning testing before 8:45 AM. It is important that your students receive a good night's rest, a filling breakfast, and arrive at school on time each day of testing.
Please come and check Lost and Found. We have a lot of articles of clothing and water bottles. We will be sending the items to Goodwill at the end of the week on Friday, April 3rd.
This year we will congratulate Janell Wilson and George Hunter as our CHAMP Award Recipients. These students have overcome life's challenges and came through it with a great attitude and a resilient spirit. This award recognizes that some students are thriving within their communities and doing great things as others are working very hard to put the pieces of their lives back together and doing it with vigor and humility while inspiring others. The District will celebrate Janell and George with other deserving students in 8th and 12th grade on May 7th, at the Omar Shrine Center on Patriot's Point. We, your Buist Family, are so proud of you!
It is very hard to believe that Spring Break is right around the corner from April 6th through April 10th. Next week, be safe, take time to relax with your students, and celebrate the successes that they have had thus far! We will see you on Monday, April 13th.
The 2025-26 State School Climate Parent Survey opened on February 23, and will be closed on April 17th.
Completing the Parent Survey is critically important for schools because some parent survey results will be displayed in school report cards, and survey results will be used for School Renewal Plans.
To complete the survey, Parents can log into their Parent Portal, and go to Forms. Detailed instructions are linked here: English version; Espanol Version.
The Buist Foundation is currently collecting items for an upcoming school auction and would love your help! If your family has anything you’d be willing to donate: a vacation home stay, tickets to a game or event, a hosted party, a special skill or service, or anything else that would make a fun auction item, we would be so grateful. Every contribution helps make the event a success and directly supports our school. Thank you for considering! If you do have anything you can donate please email Ashley Earl at ashley@simplyearl.com. Buist Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3), so all donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Thank you again!
The Buist Academy Foundation is actively seeking applications for upcoming board vacancies. Please complete the board membership application (https://www.buistacademyfoundation.org/apply). The Foundation is specifically looking for individuals with (but not limited to) expertise in finance (CPA a plus but not required) and grant writing. The application deadline is April 1st of each year. Please reach out to Krista Stackley (kadzur@gmail.com), who serves as Board Parliamentarian and Membership Chair, with any questions about board member responsibilities. If you have grant writing experience and do not feel that you are in a position to commit to board membership at this time, but would be willing to assist with an exciting project on the horizon, please reach out to Board President, Jennifer Whipple
Morgan at jenwhipmorg@gmail.com.
At the request of some 8th grade parents who did not want to
advertise their child's names in their front yards, we have added an option for parents to request a non-personalized yard sign. The price is the same and they will be identical to the other signs in every way except for including a name.
The deadline to purchase an 8th grade graduation yard sign is less than a month away. Be sure to place your order and pay by April 20th. Just a reminder that yard signs will be available the week of May 1st, in plenty of time for graduation celebrations. Please direct any question ls to Jennifer Whipple Morgan at jenwhipmorg@gmail.com.

The 'She's THAT Girl' Conference is coming to Charleston, SC and is looking for middle and high school girls to serve on their Youth Advisory Board!
The Youth Advisory Board (YAB) aims to empower teen girls to actively participate in decision-making processes for the youth mental health empowerment conference, ‘She’s THAT Girl’. The board serves as a platform for youth voices to be heard and implemented, throughout the entire process of planning and facilitating the STG Conference. This is a conference FOR teens, BY teens!
This is a volunteer-based position, in which each member will receive community service hours and a reference letter after the conference. However, a stipend may be available with the availability of sponsorship opportunities afforded to the conference.
We are hoping to facilitate the conference in October 2026 in Charleston, SC! Therefore, meetings will be held starting April 2026 leading up to the conference.
