The School Counseling program at Jennie Moore Elementary School is based on the South Carolina Comprehensive School Counseling & Career Guidance Model.  The program includes a variety of services for ALL students and is designed to assist with interests and issues related to the stages of student growth in the areas of academic, career, personal, emotional, and social development.  The following services will be offered for the 2026-2027 school year:

• Classroom guidance lessons with emphasis on personal/social skills, bullying prevention, character education, academic development (study skills), career awareness, and child protection.  We see every class in the building at least once a month.

• Small group counseling sessions (with parent permission) for students focusing on but not limited to: grief, test taking skills, friendship/social skills, divorce, and emotional regulation. If you feel your child needs assistance in any of these areas please email us. 

• Individual meetings to help students adjust to school or help with personal issues on an as-needed basis.

• Referral assistance to other programs and services in the community.
