Teachers, Please Note:
We have curated a few 4th Grade Science Practice Tests from other states that have adopted the Next Generation Science Standards. It may be helpful to expose your students to the question types found in these practice tests prior to taking the 4th Grade SCReady Science test in Spring 2025. As these tests are from other states, we do not expect that the SCReady Science test will look exactly like any of these examples. We do not recommend using these tests for grades for your students.
Select a question to tackle as a class. Have students try independently and then share their solutions with an elbow partner or the whole class. Have students support their solution or answer selection. Model thinking through the solution or answer selection and correct any misconceptions. See a potential protocol for this below.
TN Grade 4 Science Practice Test - Note that while TN standards are based on the same source material (A Framework for K-12 Science Education), they vary slightly from SCCCR Science standards. See this document for an item alignment guide.
Special thank you to the 4th grade science team at Oakland Elementary for sharing this practice!
