This online course will guide K-5 teachers through building knowledge of the structure and function of the new SC College and Career Ready (SCCCR) Science standards. Teachers will learn about the three dimensions of the new performance expectations (PE), and explore shifts in grade-level topics as well as classroom practice. Teachers will unpack a PE, analyzing each dimension. Participants in this course will learn how inquiry-based science instruction and performance-based assessment contribute to student mastery of performance expectations found in the SCCCR Science Standards.

$50.00 for credit + a $5.00 registration fee
