Dear Parent/Guardian,
We would like to make you aware of the Thomas C. Cario Middle School Saturday Scholars program. This program is designed to provide academic assistance to students who need to make up work in their academic classes. Cario teachers are available to offer assistance. However, please be aware that we do not have the staff to provide one on one tutoring. The program takes place in the Cario Media Center on Saturdays from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
In order to ensure adequate staffing, students must be registered in advance to attend. There will be a separate Google Form to register your student each week. The deadline for each week will be on Thursdays at 8:00 PM. This will also allow us time to contact your student’s teachers and acquire any work needed from them. Links for the registration form can be found on the Cario website.
Your student should arrive at the program with all materials necessary to complete his/her assignments. We can not guarantee that we will have textbooks/workbooks available.
Please make sure that your student is picked up by the 11:00 AM completion time. We ask that you be respectful of the teachers’ personal time.
Space is limited for this program. If your child does not cooperate with the staff, he/she will not be allowed to return to the program.
After years of implementing our Saturday Scholars program, we have found that it provides a needed service to further support the students who participated in it. We look forward to working with your student this school year if you would like your child to attend.
