What is After Prom?

Chardon After Prom is a wonderful night full of fun, food, games & prizes. It is held at CHS directly after Prom from (11:30pm - 3:30am)and offers our kids an affordable, fun, safe, drug-&-alcohol-free party that is one of the highlights of the student's Chardon High School experience. After Prom is open to all Juniors and Seniors and their prom guests. Many kids who forego the formal Prom experience, come to After Prom because it’s always such a fun time! Each year the party is themed & decorated (more like transformed!) by our dedicated & creative parents, and the kids absolutely love it. We love it, too!

Who is on After Prom?

Parent Volunteers (that’s us!)! All planning, organizing, fund-raising and of course the carrying out of the Event is done by our dedicated CHS parents, with support from many of our our great local businesses. Parent volunteers meet to plan the event regularly all year long, and we raise money for the event primarily by selling concessions at most of Chardon High School’s sporting events, including all football games, basketball games and soccer games. Donations are always welcome, too.

Can I help?

Oh yes, please do! It takes over 100 volunteers each year to make this great event a success! You can help in a variety of ways – by helping run the concession stands during football/soccer/basketball games, shopping for the prize baskets the kids can win, planning and decorating workshops, selling tickets, working the Monte Carlo tables or other games – there are many many opportunities to help with this great event, and any amount of time you can give us is welcome! We recognize how busy we all are – but together, we make it all happen!

And beyond the “work” of volunteering, we have a lot of fun! We try to buddy up on our volunteering efforts, so you can work with a parent you know, or get to know a new parent friend, and we share a lot of laughs along the way – never losing sight that our end goal is to put on something fabulous for our kids that they’ll remember all their lives!

We want you to be part of one of the kids’ fondest memories of CHS!

Please join us for decorating workshops every week beginning in April through May. They are fun evenings of planning, creating and making memories for our students.

The After Prom Committee meets in the high school library, usually the 2nd Wednesday of each month, starting at 7:00pm. Great Gift Idea: Cat's Meow Buildings

New store selling our Cat's Meow buildings - Richards Maple!

You can order by printing our form and taking it in to any school office (ask them to forward to After Prom at the high school) or you can purchase buildings at Sheauga Gallery, Geauga Music Center and now Richards Maple! Read below for more information!

In the spirit of the proud history and traditions of the Chardon School District and the Chardon community the Chardon High School After Prom Committee is selling “The Cat’s Meow”® wooden keepsakes of the Chardon School buildings and buses.

The buildings are approximately 4x6x3/4” (the bus is slightly smaller). Each keepsake includes a 40 word description on the back. Pictures of each building are currently on the school district website and under the Building Pictures link on the first page of the Cat's Meow section of our website.

These wooden replicas are great for anyone that loves our Chardon Schools. These are also great for reunions, alumni gatherings, graduation or any collectors of “The Cat’s Meow” ® series. Individual school buildings are $16 each, and the Chardon bus is $10.
