TH 373 Class Project Description

The Dramaturgy course explores the multifaceted role of the dramaturg in the contemporary American theatre, in production practice for both professional and academic settings. Readings, discussions, and practical exercises provide grounding in the various kinds of dramaturgical skills and tasks required to contribute to a range of productions and companies. This website is part of a class project for the course.

The students in the Fall 2021 Dramaturgy class have worked collaboratively and collectively to generate Dramaturgical research, content, and activities for all those involved in the production process; and this includes the audience! Join us in exploring the layers of this production through this website, by reading Dramaturgical Notes in the show program (available digitally at the theatre), watching the Dramaturgical Lobby Displays at the Musco Center, and by participating in our Dramaturgical Audience Engagement Events the weekend of the performances.

If your curiosity about this production goes beyond what we've researched here.
You are invited to submit any additional questions by visiting the Ask a Dramaturg Page!

The Dramaturgy Class's own Nikki Trippler is featured in the production show program and on the Chapman College of the Performing Arts Blog for her dramaturgical introduction to the production.
