Welcome to this edition of Fort-Knightly News, where we're excited to share highlights from recent activities and events at Chandlings Prep. As always, learning and discovery have been flourishing across the school.
Our children in Years 2-5 were thrilled to welcome children's book author Charlie P. Brooks and his adorable dog Mildred to our school. The children were able to receive a signed copy of Charlie's books to add to their collections at home.
We are also very proud to announce our partnership with the WISDOM Research Network, joining a collaborative initiative of schools across England dedicated to advancing youth mental health research and support.
The Year 1, 2 & 5's informal concert showcased such talent by our children. We had performances by harpists, pianists, singers and violinists. Parents and staff both enjoyed the wonderful musical presentations.
The children in nursery were treated to an exciting story of 'The 3 Billy Goats Gruff', read to them by Ms Cook. We were also treated to an exciting production of Snow White which the children and staff alike, thoroughly enjoyed.
Finishing off, we celebrated International day which is a highlight in the school year. 15 Countries were represented and the children enjoyed interacting with them all, while collecting their stamps for their 'passport'.
We look forward to sharing more exciting news and achievements in our next edition!
Best wishes, Fiona Love

It was clearly evident that all the children have been working hard on their craft. Well done to all those involved!
Our children in Years 2-5 were thrilled to welcome children's book author Charlie P. Brooks and his adorable dog Mildred to our school! Charlie, known for his children's books such as 'Sammy and the Extra-Hot Chilli Powder' and 'Sammy and the Stolen Paintings', spent time talking with the children.
After his engaging talk, the children were excited when they got the chance to meet Charlie and have their books signed, a memory they'll treasure for years to come!
The visit was a brilliant opportunity for our young readers to meet a real author and get inspired about reading and writing.
This week marks Children's Mental Health Week and we’re embracing this year's theme of 'Know Yourself, Grow Yourself' throughout our school.
Our children will be exploring self-awareness through engaging activities designed to help them understand their emotions, strengths, and aspirations. This journey of self-discovery helps build resilience and personal growth, essential skills for their future.
Working alongside the national campaign in partnership with Here4You and Disney's Inside Out 2 characters, we'll be encouraging our children to explore what makes them unique, understand their emotions, and develop tools for self-expression. Throughout the week, our children will participate in activities that promote emotional awareness and personal development.
We believe that understanding ourselves better helps us grow stronger, and we're committed to supporting our children on this important journey of self-discovery.
We're proud to announce our partnership with the WISDOM Research Network, joining a collaborative initiative of schools across England dedicated to advancing youth mental health research and support.
This partnership reflects our commitment to understanding and supporting our students' mental wellbeing through evidence-based approaches. Through our membership in the WISDOM network, Chandlings Prep will gain valuable insights into child wellbeing, and access enhanced resources for supporting mental health.
This exciting opportunity marks another step in our ongoing commitment to children and staff wellbeing, ensuring we remain at the forefront of best practices in education.
We look forward to sharing more about this partnership and its positive impact on our school community.
The children witnessed an enchanting adventure as Snow White and her friends came to life in a magical production! This fun-filled show by M&M Theatrical productions, was packed with catchy songs, lively dances, and plenty of surprises that had everyone tapping their feet and singing along.
It was a fairytale experience and a perfect blend of imagination, music, and fun!
Last week we celebrated International Day, a vibrant celebration of the different languages and cultures at the school. Children embarked on a global journey exploring stalls representing 15 countries, collecting passport stamps and engaging in a variety of activities.
During the final assembly, the children delighted the audience with performances showcasing Irish dancing, Bollywood choreography, carefully crafted Aboriginal artwork, and a charming French play and song.
Thank you to all the parents who represented 15 countries and helped and supported the event by organising a stall for the children.
The children in the nursery were in for a real treat when the head, Ms Cook, decided to engage them with a captivating storytelling session. As the room settled, with eager eyes and curious faces all around, it was no surprise that Ms Cook chose the timeless tale of The Three Billy Goats Gruff to share with the little ones. We've been sure not to let Fred & Frank know.
The children were enthralled and each dramatic pause, every change in voice for the different characters, brought the story to life.
