One of Chandlings most cherished traditions, the 'Gifts for Grown-Ups' event was once again a resounding success. This special day was made possible by the tireless efforts of our staff and parent volunteers who devoted countless hours to preparing festive gifts, decorating, and adding those perfect finishing touches with ribbons and bows.
On the day itself, the school was transformed into a winter wonderland of gift-giving. Twinkling lights, merry melodies, and an array of thoughtfully curated presents created a magical shopping experience for our young gift-givers. The joy on the children's faces as they carefully selected presents for their loved ones was truly heartwarming. This event not only allows our children to experience the joy of giving, but also creates lasting memories of the holiday season at Chandlings.
Our Nativity performances have been a magical journey. We were delighted to see all the children bring the stories to life through their dancing, singing, and acting, filling the room with festive cheer. Their hard work and enthusiasm truly shone through in every performance. A heartfelt thank you goes to Mrs Belcher and Miss Sharp for their incredible creativity and dedication in writing the scripts and songs that make our Nativity plays for each year so unique. Their effort ensures that each performance is not only special but also a wonderful memory for everyone involved!
The Christmas Ensembles Soirée was an evening of musical delight, showcasing our ensembles' hard work throughout the term. From budding instrumentalists to promising vocalists, our talented performers held the audience spellbound. We enjoyed a diverse range of performances including the orchestra, Pre-Prep recorders, keyboards, percussion, choral speaking, Prep Percussionists, and a guitar and ukulele ensemble, among others.
The entire school came together for an exciting festive House Fun Run! Children from all year groups put on their trainers and hit the course, showing off their determination, teamwork, and House spirit. The event was a fantastic blend of fitness and fun, with vibrant cheers and plenty of smiles along the way. Whether sprinting to the finish or pacing themselves with friends, every child contributed to their House’s collective effort. It was wonderful to see the Chandlings Prep community come together in such a spirited and energetic way!
Christmas time at Chandlings Prep is always a time of joy and enchantment, and this year was no exception. The Prep children had a great time in the main hall, competing in their house challenges. Activities included creating and decorating Christmas trees, wrapping as many presents as they could, crafting festive jumper designs, and sculpting Christmas scenes using playdough. Afterwards, the Pre-Prep children delighted in walking around the hall to admire all the imaginative creations.
The festive cheer continued throughout the day with each year group gathering around the fire and Christmas tree to sing carols. The celebrations reached their peak with a flurry of snow outside and a surprise visit from a certain jolly figure in red and white, who arrived in style on his festive buggy. It was a truly magical way to wrap up the term.
This term in Textiles Design Club, our talented Year 3 and Year 4 students have been creating stunning Google graffiti-inspired patterns, cleverly incorporating their names. These designs were then sublimation-printed onto fabric, which they used to craft their very own personalised tote bags.
