On September 13th, Club Rush took place. It was exciting to see old and new clubs show what they had in store for this year. Let’s first talk about what the experience was like being at Club Rush. All clubs had posters made by the Student Council this year. It was fun to see what ideas and drawings the student council members had for each club. Each club had items on their table to highlight the key components of their club. Student council was also kind enough to provide a list of each club and their information such as meeting times, places, etc. This made things easier for students who attended to have more details on each club. The following is a list of the clubs that attended Club Rush. I spoke with each club to ask what goals or plans they have for this year.
Chess Club: co-presidents: Josue Navarrete and Kenny Remillard
Chess Club meets in room 401 on Wednesdays during lunch. They wish to learn more about different chess strategies and do tournaments in between.

The art club wants to expand people’s artistic abilities and knowledge. They work with various media of art: whether visual, written, traditional, etc. They also teach the basics of contract making for students who wish to do commissions as a way of work. They mentioned that they just want to have fun while creating art. If you’re interested they meet on Wednesdays at lunch in room 403.

The Debate Team goes to debate competitions out of school for two days every month. Their goal this year is to get more people to join who are interested in ongoing issues or want to learn more about debate. It’s a competitive “sport” that is rewarded either by scholarships, trophies, etc. Anyone is welcome to join regardless of experience. They meet in room 410 on Mondays and Thursdays during 9th period.
Baking Club: President- Gabriella Moceri
Baking Club’s goal this year is to expand its variety of members rather than just having Seniors and Freshmen. They may also have a bake sale, so keep your eye out for that! The Baking Club meets on Thursdays at lunch in room 309.
Adventure’s Guild: President: Raven Turner
The Adventures Game Club plays D&D. They meet on Mondays and Thursdays from 2:45- 4:00 in room 400. Every club was really nice and welcoming. They all have so much to offer and teach. My advice is to try something new. Who cares about skill level when you can have fun? 🐾
