Meet Your Campus Missionary:
I am Jaclyn Beilfuss. I have lived in the area since 2001. We moved to the area when our daughter who is now a college sophmore, was just a year old. Our purpose for moving to the area was 1. for my husband's coaching career (he was the BMHS Men's Basketball coach for 14 years) and 2. we wanted a smaller community to raise our children.
I met my husband shortly after graduating from high school, we dated for 2 years, married in 1998, and will be celebrating 22 years of marriage in April. We have two children. Our daughter, Isabella, is turning 20 in March, attends Yavapai College for nursing. Our son, Kelly, is turning 18 in March, is graduating high school in May. Currently, he plans on attending NAU, with a full ride academic scholarship. He will also be involved in Christian Challenge at the NAU campus.
I am currently a 5th grade ELA teacher at a local elementary school. I have been teaching for the past 13 years in HUSD. I taught college online for Ashford University until recently for the past 10 years.
I have felt the call of working in a form of missions since I was a little girl. I accepted Christ around the age of 6 or 7. Both sets of my grandparents were missionaries, so it is near and dear to my heart. After my freshman year of high school, I went on a mission trip to Jamaica for the summer, with the group called Teen Missions International. We built a water reservoir for a deaf and blind school there.
You might ask, " Why would you want to be a campus missionary?" Well to be honest, at first, I was not sure I wanted to. Then God really started working in my life. He called me to help bring His Word to this campus. I already felt like I was doing what God wanted me to. My husband and I feel that the team (I'll get to that in a moment.) was our calling. My husband has been the Men's Assistant Basketball Coach since the program was formed. This is his 5th season with Embry Riddle. However, the team was not my only calling. He wanted me to reach as many college students on Riddle's campus as possible. So here I am! I am excited as we are on this journey.
I started working with several students here at Riddle, as well as the Christian Challenge organization, and Willow Hills Baptist Church almost a year ago. I am excited to see what God has in-store for Christian Challenge, as well as Embry Riddle and the students we come into contact with.
