2006

CVL Champions

Record: 7-2

Head Coach: Rick Blosser

The 2006 season saw the Braves win their first ever FHL Title and their first outright league title since 1987. A two-headed monster in the backfield of Justin Fuqua and Tanner Messer combined to rush for over 2,000 yards together in the season. The Braves lethal split back veer led them to one of the best rushing seasons in school history. The talented Braves outscored league opponents 229-58. The Braves reeled off 7 straight wins prior to hitting a wall in their last 2 games of the season. Their 7 wins in a season is the most for CGHS since 1987. A staggering 9 Braves earned First-Team All-League: center Eric Brown, guard Dusty Alexander, tackle Chaney, tight end Stevenson and running back Messer on offense, and on defense, Brown and Stevenson got the nod again as defensive linemen, while Cory Yowell earned a spot as a defensive back and Tyson Fore as a linebacker.
