Marion is one of the most played opponents in the history of Council Grove Football. The first found game between the two was in 1923 and they played almost every single year after that until the Braves left the CVL for the FHL in 2004-2005. Marion has a large series lead over Council Grove as they were a traditional state power throughout much of the 20th century. Some of the Braves biggest wins in school history have been over the Warriors of Marion.
