PAT BOEH - C/O 1983

DB

Pat Boeh is one of the most accomplished defensive backs and future coaches to come out of the Council Grove High School football program. He graduated in 1983 and earned HM All-State 4A honors at the position of defensive back. He had a knack for getting to the football as he is one of the top 10 career leaders in fumble recoveries and also one of the tops in interceptions, a rare combination for a defensive back.

Boeh went on to start at Ottawa University. At Ottawa, Pat received the Dick Peters Award. This award is similar to the John Goff Most Inspirational Athlete Award given at CGHS.

Boeh's Head Football coach and Athletic Director at Ottawa, Glen Percy, stated "Ottawa University gives a memorial plaque, the Dick Peters Award to the Senior football player who exemplifies the true aspects of sportsman-like conduct on and off of the field. Pat demonstrates the qualities that are found in the great athletes of our time, loyalty, cooperation, leadership both on and off of the field, and determination. Pat was selected for this honor because of these, and many more qualities."

Following Pat's playing career he went on to be a successful head high school football coach. At Ottawa High School he took the Cyclones to the playoffs three times, including a 10-1 season in 2000.
