KENT CRAFT - C/O 1962
FB/P
Craft is one of the most accomplished collegiate players to ever come through Council Grove High School. His 6'2" 190lb. frame allowed him to gain the opportunity to play for the Kansas Jayhawks in the early 1960s. He was brought to the Jayhawks as a fullback, where he was nearly the leading blocker for all-time great collegiate and NFL back Gale Sayers. Due to injury, Craft transferred and found his way to the College of Emporia. This was where he truly shined as a 3-sport collegiate athlete.
Craft did well enough to become a Hall of Fame member at the College of Emporia for his successes. Read his College of Emporia Hall of Fame profile below:
"Kent lettered and received conference honors each of his three football seasons. Craft was first team All-Conference in 1965. In addition to being fullback, Kent was a leading KCAC punter each year. In two of his three football years, he was second in KCAC scoring. Kraft also played and lettered on the KCAC championship basketball team of 1965-66 and lettered in track that year as well."
Craft goes down as one of only four CG players to receive All-Conference honors in multiple seasons while in college.
