JACK MONNINGTON - C/O 1940

HB/DB

Jack Monnington was a dominant halfback and threatening defensive back for the Braves in the late 1930s. There are a lot of holes in archives from that era, but one could still find a decent amount on Jack Monnington because he was that great of a player. He had one of the top-5 intercepting seasons ever by a Brave over 80 years ago in an era where passing was limited. As a halfback, he was a big-play threat. It appears that every time Jack touched the ball, he was a threat to score. All-State football honors came to him due to his big-play ability.

Jack's best individual game was against Emporia in 1939. In that game he scored 26 points, leading the Braves to victory.
