ETHAN BURTON - C/O 2023

WR/RB/DB/P/RET

Ethan Burton was 1 of 9 Finalists for the Sports in Kansas 2A Defensive Player of the Year Award in 2022 and the first Shrine Bowl nominee in 12 years for the Braves. In the all-star game, he recorded a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He also earned First Team All-State in 2A as an offensive athlete and punter, making him the first known player in school history to receive the equivalent of First Team All-State or better in all 3 phases of the game. In addition to the gridiron, Ethan also was an individual state powerlifting champion and a State Champion in the 100m and 200m - making him one of the fastest, if not the fastest Braves ever.

On defense, Ethan shined in his role as a hybrid safety/linebacker for CG in their 3-3-5 hybrid defense. He racked up 68 total tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 3 interceptions, 2 pass deflections, 1 sack, and 1 forced fumble. It was one of the most impressive tackling performances by a Braves' defensive back since the turn of the century.

EB also went down as one of the most decorated wide receivers of all time for the Braves. He finished his career as the holder of more receiving records than any player before him at CG. Burton used his track speed to make opponents pay once he got to the second level. Throughout his career, he played every position on offense except for line and tight end. At the commencement of his career, he held or shared numerous school records. On special teams, he also made an impact as he averaged 38 yards per punt and had 12 punts downed inside the 20-yard line.

In 2022 he became the first receiver to have 1,000 All-Purpose Yards in a single season at the Grove. His 25 Career Total TDs made him the first receiver to land on the Braves' career Top 10 Total TDs list. Ethan is one of the fastest Braves in pads ever, landing 6th all-time in 50+ and 40+ yard plays while also being 1st all-time in 30+ yard receptions.

Ethan had three games in his career that stood out above the rest. See his statistics from those games below.
