The first step renters should take if they are concerned about paying their rent or facing eviction is to contact their on-site manager or lease agent by phone or email right away to let them know if you may need rental assistance or a payment plan for your next monthly rental payment. Early communication with residents and managers allows for more time to respond and explore all options.
Project HOPE (Homeless Outreach to Place and Empower) is a mobile outreach program developed in 1996 as a collaboration between The Salvation Army, the City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department, and the Libraries Department. UMOM offers two types of shelter: emergency and extended. Emergency shelter provides a temporary place to live for those experiencing homelessness. Extended shelter gives very vulnerable families the ability to stay and receive supportive services for a longer period of time, beyond an emergency stay. The average length of stay in extended shelter is 247 days (less than five months).
UMOM also provides extended shelter, programs and services for survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking.

We offer a holistic approach to the hurts of life by addressing each facet of a woman and providing her with tools and resources to discover her true value and worth.
Our programs are based on incentive so that women earn “points” for attending our education classes (faith based and life skills), or meeting 1-on-1 with a mentor or participating in a support group.
Partnerships with other area service organizations allow Hope Women’s Center to help each woman access the necessary resources in order to offer hope and healing.
Family Promise’s mission is to provide emergency shelter and social services to help families move toward independent housing and self-sufficiency.
We do this with the help of a network of interfaith congregations that are passionate about serving homeless families. Together, our goal is to provide homeless families with a safety net of services so they can become independent and sustainable as a family unit.
We accept only families with children and we are dedicated to keeping the family together. We have zero tolerance for substance abuse or violence. We accept into our program only parents able to work in the U.S.
In our Emergency Shelter, we focus on resolving the family’s immediate crisis and provide food, safe shelter, clothing, and help them find daycare, schools, employment and social services. Within 60 days the family has generally stabilized and a parent is employed. We continue to give encouragement and case management while they transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency.
