Pacific coastal Region

The westernmost region of the United States is the Pacific Coast.  It includes high mountain ranges that stretch from Alaska to Mexico.  In the United States, some of these western ranges are near the Pacific Ocean.  Important cities of the Pacific Coast region include Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles. 

The climate varies from cold and rainy in the north to dry and warm in the south.  Natural resources include copper, fish and grapes. Economic activities include tourism and ranching.
