My name is Leticia Curiel, and I am so excited about joining Horne Elementary this year as the 2nd-5th grade Science Instructional Specialist. I grew up in Cypress Fairbanks, and I attended Owens Elementary, Horne Elementary, Truitt Middle School and Langham Creek High School. I am so excited about what this school year will bring.

My first 13 years in education took place at Hairgrove Elementary. I was a second grade math and science teacher for three years, and then proceeded to teach fifth grade. I was a self contained treacher for three of the eight years in fifth grade, and during that time I was honored with the recognition of Spotlight Teacher. I served as a coach and interventionist for my last two years at Hairgrove Elementary.

I attended the University of Houston Main Campus, and obtained a Bachelors of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. My certifications include Bilingual Generalist Early Childhood-4 and Generalist 4-8. Teaching is my passion, and it is amazing to see the impact that we, as educators, make in the lives of so many children.

My husband and I have been married for six years and have two children. My son is a kindergartener in CyFair and loves learning new things. My daughter is an inquisitive two year old that loves learning from her brother. When I am not at school, I am at home making memories with my family.
