Soul Singh

Born in Colorado, Soul Singh prevailed through many trials and tribulations as a ward of the state. The product of abuse and neglect, Soul’s love for reading gave her insight and motivation to move beyond her life circumstances. She was named the Colorado Youth of the Year in 1998 and graduated high school with high honors. Soul attended the University of Texas in Austin, earning her bachelor’s degree in Sociology. She served others as a community caseworker with a non-profit organization, Crossroads: Community Partnership for Youth. The organization provided mentoring services for juveniles in the Juvenile Justice Department. Desiring to be more proactive in the lives of youth, Soul began teaching in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD as a high school Adaptive Behavior Teacher. After earning her Master’s of Education degree from Prairie View A&M, Soul became a Special Education Administrator and then a High School Assistant Principal.

In 2019 she was honored to be named the Director for the Maybelline Carpenter Center, a therapeutic education program serving the greater CyFair ISD community.

She is a motivational speaker, author of Thank You for Smiling, and an educational consultant and advocate. Her greatest accomplishment is raising her two remarkable children and recently marrying her soulmate, Virgil.
