Patti Brucki

Patti Brucki (M.A., M.S.) has been a high school teacher and coach on Chicago’s south side since 1990. Patti considers herself a teacher preservationist: one who actively works to honor, affirm, nurture, and fortify those in the diaspora of education. She comes from a family of  27 teachers and coaches; she is therefore funny, brutally honest, and energizing.

As a teacher mentor and national professional developer, she’s been at the game long enough to watch genius talents leave legacies through followed footsteps. She’s also witnessed career ending habits lead to sickness, imprisonment, and broken relationships. Patti and her hot fire chief husband have three grown children. Her great aunt, Sr.  Dorothy Badke, taught for 55 years.
