Reading Olympics is an optional monthly reading challenge from the Freeman Library. Each challenge is designed to give students a variety of reading experiences, and foster a life-long love of reading.

Students may participate in the Reading Olympics through their school Canvas account. Paper copies of each month’s challenge will also be available for kindergarten, first, and second grade students.

Specific directions for each challenge will be available at the beginning of each month in Canvas as well as on our Freeman Library website. Challenges will also be presented to students during their class library visits. Each monthly challenge must be correctly completed and submitted by the student on or before the last school day of the assigned month. Late work will not be accepted. 

It is the student’s responsibility to make sure his or her monthly submission was received. Students may check their progress by viewing their graded work in Canvas. Correctly completed challenges will receive a score of 100. If the challenge is not completed correctly, students may redo the challenge and resubmit up until the last school day of the assigned month. A record will be kept of the challenges completed, and medals will be presented at the end-of-year awards’ assemblies. Medals will not be given out early nor kept over the summer.
