BAND FEE PAYMENT #2

We ask that you send in your Band Fees to help the program stay in the green as we tackle the finances of the Fall Semester. Your Band fee can be paid in Full or paid over 4 payments. The FINAL band fee payment is in January! I always advise parents to pay off this fee as early as possible! I will make it much easier later on in the school year. Financial Statements will be sent to everyone soon, if not already and we are asking that you send your payments for Band Fees and Supplies – Checks payable to CHSBBC or cash in envelopes with names. Credit Card payments can be made through CHARMS.

SHOW TAGS: I wanted to take a moment to introduce the tradition of Show Tags! This year we gave each student 2 dog tags that have their Name, show name, year and creekview band on it. This is our very own piece of the process that we get to carry around our necks for the season! The value and meaning behind the TAG encompasses the rigors, sacrifice, endurance and challenges that we all go through, ultimately to come together as a STRONG family and community of people that perform our show throughout the fall! Later in the FALL we will have a TAG exchange, where the students will be able to gift their tag with other band members, family or friends who have cast support, inspiration and friendship to them this season as a token of appreciation! The tradition is to WEAR your show tags with pride through out the season! It is a reminder of the process and CHS P.R.I.D.E. Keep them safe and Go CREEKVIEW BAND.

GAME 2 Notes: we will be traveling to Frisco Liberty to play at Memorial stadium. Before we depart we will have a brief review rehearsal at CHS. We will have our pregame meal #2, inspection, load the semi and depart on buses. It is a great joy to have you come out and participate in the program through volunteer work! Helping chaperone the band, passing out water/snacks, picking up flipfolders on the field and helping move front ensemble/band equipment on and off the field. Sign up through the CHARMS link to volunteer and be a part of the excellence! Students will wear the summer uniform and be responsible for their labeled flip folders and water jugs!

GAME 2 REMINDERS and WEATHER PLAN OF ACTION

WEATHER FORECAST:

Friday, September 7th 2018 – (night) cloudy with a chance of showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms. Humid in the low 70’s and a 50 percent chance of rain.

We must take days like this with extra precaution for our kids health and our expensive equipment. Before we send the band to a game or contest, we evaluate the weather conditions and decide as a staff and school administration. Should the weather predictions be severe, we may restrict the band from attending/perfoming as a whole marching band for the safety of our kids, parents/staff and equipment. If the weather is mild and within reasonable limits, we would attend and have ponchos ready on standby to prevent from getting soaked. Your patience and support through these isolated events is highly appreciated. Stay tuned for more feedback when the weather is inclement.

PONCHOS: Freshment students that ordered ponchos will have them distributed at CHS around 4pm on Friday. All our upperclassmen will need to secure their previously purchased ponchos and bring them to school on days that we have performances and have possible weather conditions. If you have more than one clear poncho – we would welcome you to bring extras in case they are needed. If you don’t have a poncho, you may consider purchasing one to ensure that no one is left out without rain cover in a rainy condition. Plan ahead!
