Successful procurement and trading of bulk commodities demand close attention to the production, preparation, inventory control, transport, surveying, testing and as well as the loading/discharging of the cargo to/from the vessel, barges, rail wagons, or trucks. CESI LLC specialized Team is trained for supervise or monitor the key aspects of the supply chain in order to limit our customer’s exposure to associated risks.

The ever-increasing demands on production and transport capacities highlight the importance of supply chain visibility from the mines, process plants; stockpiles, various transport modes ultimately, to the delivery of the cargo to the consuming plants. Typically, a client will hire CESI LLC to monitor/supervise a particular “segment” of the supply chain. Our primary role is to maintain close communication with our client; their counterparties and various service providers to ensure the obligations of the supply chain functions are clearly understood and properly executed.

The cargo’s quality and quantity are equally important to all stakeholders along the supply chain. During the cargo loading/discharge, we assure that sampling and testing procedures are carried out in accordance to accepted and agreed industry standards and the best available practices. Accurate determination of cargo quantity begins with effective control of inventory, as well as close attention to practices for determining weight, whether by certified scales, draught survey or, volumetric survey. Crucial to these processes are preliminary (pre-shipment) assessments to review of the product specifications, procedures for testing and weighing, the cargo preparation, and the avoidance of degradation and contamination, as well as effective handling, storage and blending of the cargo.
